Comparative studies of 51 gravidas about detection of rupture of amniotic membrane were carried out by means of proving fetal fat cells, fetal fat droplets with 0.1% nile blue sulfate staining and detection of a shift in the hydrogen ion concentration of the vaginal fluid. Results summarized were as follows; Diagnostic accuracies in 20min, 40 min, and 60 min after rupture of membrane in order of demonstrating fetal fat cell, fetal fat droplets and vaginal pH methods were 96.1%, 92.2%, 86.3%, 91.5%, 88.9% respectively changes of percentages of demonstrating fetal fat cells along with time elapsed after membrane rupture there were 75.5% in decreasing tendency 8.2% in increasing tendency and 16.3% in no changes respectively.
